We were looking for something that represented her being born on our 8th Wedding Anniversary. Her and her litter mates weren't actually due on the 27th Nov 2012, but came a bit earlier. It was like it was meant to be ! I actually dreamt about the birth I think the night before, well close enough to the big event. I did see Tri colour puppies in among them. So there has been a few symbolic events that we have wanted to link up to her name. We were also trying to find one that had an Aboriginal meaning to it, as her Prefix is Cooinda, which means 'Happy Place'
With the help of her breeder sending us quite a few links to baby names and their meanings, and with our own search we did come up with quite a few possibilities.Some of the names I really liked had some really good meanings behind them but unfortunately just didn't suit a girl puppy or aren't easy to say, or just didn't flow nicely enough.
The most ideal name we were looking for was one that represented a full moon, as many good things have happened to Michael and I during a full moon month. Our wedding was planned around a full moon in 2004, our house settlement date fell on a full moon and the latest being our puppy was born on one!
We had been also looking up names that represented 'Heavenly' Gift from God/Universe and Blessings, but nothing stood out for us that we both liked together.
Anyway you are all probably eagerly waiting to hear the name we have chosen ! I couldn't find one that we liked that means the 'Full Moon' as such, but its still means the Moon !

It also can mean in other countries: Dreams, Illusions (Sanskrit) which fits in with my dream and Mine (Latin origin)
We also like that is a bit different and pronounced differently to Mia. Jenny her Breeder is yet to decide on her full registered name, I will add that in here as soon as we know what it is.

ReplyDeleteDoes Miss Ava's friend's name get pronounced as Mia or like how we have named our puppy as in My- ah ? We wanted it to be more original in how it is pronounced.
